Yahoo! UI Extensions Library .3 Release
The key component in this release is the Grid component. If you haven’t been following my previous posts, the Grid component feaures a full selection model with keyboard shortcuts, resizable columns, multiple skins and a powerful Data API for binding to different types of data including via AJAX.
For more details about the Grid component, please see my previous posts:
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
The EventObject/EventManager classes are also new. They provide more convenient access to Yahoo! UI event handling functionality. Rather than your event handler being passed the browsers event object, you are passed the browser event object wrapped in a YAHOO.ext.EventObject. It adds null checks, key constants and all the Yahoo! UI event methods directly on the event object. For example, e.stopEvent() instead of if(e){ YAHOO.util.Event.stopEvent(e); }.
The documentation and download links have been updated. Please post any bugs, feature requests and help questions in the new forums available via the links on the right hand side of every post on this site.
